Christmas Sugar Cookies

Yield: 3-4 dozen
Ingredients
Cookies
1 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
4 cups flour
1 cup sour milk (milk + 1 tablespoon white vinegar)
Frosting
powdered sugar
butter, softened
milk
vanilla
Instructions
Cookies
Mix all ingredients besides the flour and milk.
Alternating, add flour and milk.
Cover and refrigerate overnight.
When rolling, add lots of flour to keep dough from sticking.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees, cut out cookies and place on cookie sheets lined with parchment paper.
Bake 5-8 minutes. Let cool.
Frost and decorate.

Mix to form stiff frosting
